Rosa Langer née Rothman emigrated to the United States in 1929, six years after her husband, bringing their two children: Harry, born in Brzostek on 11 November 1920, and Anna, born 22 December 1921 — both after this birth register closes in 1917. Joseph Langer had sailed alone in 1923 and sent for them the year he was naturalised. The United States census of April 1930 records her in Brooklyn, aged 33 and still an alien, with Joseph, Harry (8) and Anna, entered as Florence (7). She was living at 1418 East 4th Street, Brooklyn, when Joseph registered for the draft in April 1942. Harry is named for Joseph's father, Hersch Langer, who died in Brzostek on 9 January 1908.
